Mumbai, October 13 (IANS) Choreographer Terence Lewis will be seen as a judge alongside Geeta Kapur and Malaika Arora in ‘India’s Best Dancer’ Season 2. He says he literally has to be on his toes!
In an open conversation, Terence Lewis elaborates on the theme ‘Best Ka Next Avatar’ and talks about the bond he shares with actor Malaika Arora and Geeta Kapur about the show.
In ‘India’s Best Dancer 2’ we are looking for ‘Best Ka Next Avatar’. These days, social media has created awareness of different dance styles and has even inspired people across the country to take up dance as a full-fledged profession. I feel like people have realized how to make themselves stand out, which is why I think ‘Best Ka Next Avatar’ is the most suitable title for season 2, ”Terence shares.
Terence is back in the judging panel and he is quite happy about it when he says: “It feels great because last season was such a big hit and we had a wonderful talent. I would also say that I am sure this season will be even better. ”
Ask him about the challenges he faces as a judge on the show: “The hardest part is keeping up to date with the different styles that these budding dancers come up with. Every shape, every pattern needs to be improvised and the participants make it even more special when they own it!
“It’s about the small details – training, landing, style, aesthetics, we as judges must remember all this in mind when we see them perform. It must be perfect in terms of technique, and the viewing experience must also mark all fields. Current trends, songs and much more are what we as judges need to consider. It comes with a great responsibility and we all three try our best to get it, every time. ”
Terence shares her affiliation with Malaika and Geeta on the dance reality show, adding: “Geeta and I have been best friends forever. Malaika was my student 20 years ago. Geeta and I have grown together in our careers and it feels very comfortable to share the mark of a co-judge with her and Malaika both. We all share a wonderful bond and have fun. Sometimes the production people in particular have to ask us to ‘be calm’. ”
