Even in her wildest dreams, she could not have imagined that she would make her Bollywood debut with the legend of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan.
‘Chehre’ actress Krystle D’Souza says meeting the legend and initiating a conversation with him could have been a speechless moment for her, but a thoughtful gesture from Big B changed it all.
Krystle said, “I can not even begin to tell you how nervous I was and it was the first time my mother accompanied me to the first day of shooting. Of course, my mother also had a dream of meeting Mr. Bachchan, as we are a family of Bachchan fans. But when I saw him for the first time, the aura he has made me so nervous, and for a moment I did not know how to start the conversation. My eyes were wide open and saw him … the man with a baritone voice.
“He walked up to me and said, ‘Hi Krystle, this is Amitabh Bachchan, it’s nice to meet you!’ And then sir smiled. I think that was it for me to realize that he is such a humble and easy person and he is trying to ease me. Since then, I have really felt comfortable around everyone. ”
She continued: “We have a fantastic mix of actors from two generations in the same film. On the one hand, I got a chance to work with our all-time favorite Emraan Hashmi and on the other hand, I also worked with veterans like Annu Kapoor and Raghuvir Yadav among others. Honestly, it could not have been a better debut for me. ”
Krystle plays Emran’s love interest in the movie ‘Chehre’, which is a mysterious thriller directed by Rumi Jaffery.
The actor started his career with TV shows and became a household name for ‘Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’, ‘Ekk Nayi Pehchaan’ and ‘Belan Wali Bahu’.
The release of the movie ‘Chehre’ was delayed due to the pandemic, and it will finally be released in cinemas on August 27th.
Asked if the delay in the release worried her, and Krystle said, “At first, of course, I was a little shattered because I was super excited about my movie. As I said, it’s a dream come true with everything perfect, be it the cast, the story, my role in the film. But when the pandemic happened and we all realized how people lose their lives, it was definitely not the right time for a movie release.
“So in the end, I was just grateful that, at least when normalcy shows up, I have a movie to release, a reason to celebrate life, and the fact that I and all my loved ones are healthy and happy. The release date of a movie was too small an issue to surf as people lost their lives due to a deadly virus. ”
‘Chehre’ is produced by Anand Pandit and also features Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Raghuvir Yadav and Annu Kapoor.
