No matter what happens in the boxing world, it clearly does not stop at any time when the infamous YouTube star Jake Paul accepts a boxing match against former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley – now scheduled for an August 29 match date.
After defeating Woodley’s longtime teammate and retired world-class MMA star / wrestling talent Ben Askren in an astonishing first-round upset, the younger Paul brother signed a multi-match deal with Showtime Sports, rumored to be valued north of eight figures. At this point, Jake Paul boasts a professional boxing record of 3-0, having also bested former NBA veteran Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib.
While Paul is rising in this regard, Tyron Woodley’s martial arts career has experienced something of a decline in the last few years. Woodley has not tasted victory since 2018 and failed to win against that kind of UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns, Colby Covington and Vincente Luque. He was recently released from the Dana White-run promotion with a professional record of 19-7-1.

“This will be the toughest fight I’ve had, by far the toughest opponent, the most famous opponent,” writes Paul Instagram.
“We break another PPV record for boxing.”
Woodley also does not take the upcoming challenge lightly. Earlier this month, it was reported that T-Wood had taken undefeated former 15-time world champion Floyd Mayweather – who recently faced Jake’s older brother, Logan Paul – on his offer to help prepare. The confirmation that this was not just another empty gesture also came via Instagram.
“Bank robbery is underway,” Woodley wrote.
“You’re all dirty! It’s stuck now. ”
Coming on August 28, Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley will fight down at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, located in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The fight is to take place at the 190-pound weight division. Hopefully a justice will be served, but based on the recent trend we would not trust it … Paul has opened as a betting favorite at. -130 odds.
