AIR21 strengthens the team by transforming into mini-business units

AIR21, the country’s trusted Total Logistics Solutions Provider, has constantly upgraded its teams to become more efficient, organized and responsive to the needs of its customers. With its 42nd anniversary theme “Kasama Mo sa Bawat Hamon ng Panahon”, AIR21 is proud to introduce its Mini-Business Unit (MBU) teams – the teams dedicated to providing you with better logistics services. This system groups AIR21’s larger operations team into smaller, more focused units that foster management routines, concentrated engagement, and basic problem solving for their specific tasks.

Each MBU team consists of a coach, a team leader and its members. Coaches ensure that MBU’s principles and goals are properly communicated. The team leader makes sure that the team members achieve these. Regular multi-level meetings with the management team help keep the MBU’s goals aligned and always focused on improvement.

The five MBU teams are named SMART, SPEED and STEEL for AIR21’s NCR and major Luzon operations and BLACK and DEO (Data Entry Operators) for AIR21’s AIR21 sorting, consolidation and data coding. Another three teams were also set up last year – Team Savior, which is responsible for pharmaceutical delivery surgery; team FMG, which is responsible for the maintenance and acquisition of trucks; and team STAR, which is responsible for warehouse operations.

Through this simple yet efficient system, AIR21 can improve its services and remain the best provider of logistics solutions in the Philippines. It has only been a few years, but the MBU teams have already shown an increase in improving their work for the benefit of AIR21 and its customers.

As we celebrate our 42nd year in the industry, the creation of the transformation program for mini-business units is proof of our commitment to investing in our employees. Together with improved processes and innovation, we are always aware of the challenge of what our environment brings, ‚ÄĚsays AIR21 founder, Alberto D. Lina.
