A trio of teasers give us our first look at the 4400 reboot

A trio of teaser trailers for the CW’s “4400” shines a spotlight on three of the series’ characters. The first focuses on Claudette, who apparently originally disappeared (or was abducted) from Earth in 1956. The second trailer introduces a man known as Pastor, which first disappeared in 1994. Meanwhile, the third and final “4400” teaser is turning its attention to Shanice, whose initial disappearance appears to have taken place in 2005. The three trailers are all short and focus mainly on determining when each of the characters disappeared, and the trailers all end with the characters’ reaction to finding out that on a has somehow found itself in the year 2021.

While teasers themselves do not offer much in terms of specific plot details or character interactions, they are effective in creating the central premise of “4400.” The show’s characters will no doubt also treat their respective time jumps in their own unique ways, and their struggle to adapt to modern society should be able to provide “4400” plenty of dramatic material in its early episodes.

As of now, the series is not set to premiere for another few months, which means that curious viewers will probably have to wait a little longer before seeing more extensive footage or trailers for the series. While a bit disappointing, the CW’s decision to drop some introductory teasers so far ahead of the series’ premiere suggests that the network is already interested in drumming as much interest in it as possible in the next few months. However, whether “4400” can perform as successfully as some of the network’s other notable reboots of recent years remains to be seen.

“4400” premieres Monday, October 25 on the CW.
